Uusnivala Energy Storage Oy, a 110MWh battery storage project managed by NTR has entered into a three-year agreement with ACCURE to maximise its performance, reduce operating costs and protect the lifetime value of the asset.

Aachen, Germany — April — NTR, a leading sustainable infrastructure investor and asset manager, has entered into a three-year agreement with ACCURE Battery Intelligence to support commissioning and long-term operations of the Uusnivala Energy Storage Oy, a 110MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Nivala, Northern Ostrobthnia, Finland.  The asset is owned by the L&G Clean Power (Europe) III Fund and currently stands as one of the most prominent BESS projects under development in Finland.

ACCURE will support the commissioning of Uusnivala Energy Storage Oy and work alongside NTR’s asset management team, combining hands-on performance engineering with industry-leading battery analytics to verify system condition, assess battery state of health and build a reliable picture of performance before commercial operations begin. This independent view of system condition before commercial operations begin protects performance and reduces risk from day one.

Once in operation, ACCURE will provide continuous monitoring and hands-on performance engineering support. By addressing SOC errors, imbalances and other performance factors, validating performance against warranty obligations and technical specifications, and delivering independent battery analytics, ACCURE provides the visibility needed to make confident O&M decisions thus reducing operating costs, strengthening contractual oversight and protecting the long-term value of the asset.

Kevin Harrington, Director Asset Operations at NTR commented: "Uusnivala is a milestone project for us, being our first venture into the Finnish battery storage market and is a strong example of how storage can support both the grid and broader energy transition. Working with ACCURE, both during commissioning and into operations, enables enhanced expertise, advanced technology and market understanding necessary to provide dependable system services and sustained long-term asset value.
